The easy way to use mailgun SMTP with WordPress Mailing Group Plugin (WPMG) is to choose ‘Wp Mail’ as outgoing mail function in mailing group settings, then install a free plugin called Mailgun For WordPress’, and activate the plugin. Login to your Mailgun account and get keys from there and fill in Mailgun plugin’s page and you are done. See the sample settings of mailgun plugin in image below:
